It is mind-blowing they weren't there to protect people. It's because in many of these protests they are the ones actually hurting people... or the reason the protest even started. This really makes you think... we aren't training police the right way... because their sole purpose should be to protect people. Not to be violent and hurt people. Even when we are talking about situations with police and criminals... criminals still deserve the benefit of the doubt... or to get help. They don't deserve to be murdered by police officers. With great power, comes great responsibility. I think sometimes people who support this police brutality type of behavior and justify it by saying "they are criminals," tend to forget that we are all human. Wonderful article.
